Massage originated in China some three thousand years ago and it's therapeutic value in the treatment of stress and tensions is well known.

Indian head massage (or "Champi" in Hindu) is a more specialised flavour of massage in that it focuses on the head, neck and shoulders.

It originated in India over a thousand years ago and was formally defined into an actual therapy by Narendra Metha in the 1970's after training as a physiotherapist. He combined his knowledge of champi with his modern training of shiatsu and accupressure to produce a system of massage which could relax tension, rebalance energy and clear any areas of concentrated negativity.

The therapy works upon the three higher Chakras which can be found around the head. These are the Vissuddha (base of the throat), the Ajna (the forehead) and the Sahasrara (the crown). A professional head massage can be as beneficial as a full body massage because it affects these important accupressure points.

In summary an Indian Head Massage can be a very relaxing and enjoyable experience and is far more convenient and almost as beneficial as a full body massage
